I like football, and I know the difference between college football

I like the NFL football, but I have no personal contact with it, I know more about our university football.College football is better than the NFL.  That’s a bold statement, but honestly, I don’t even think it’s all that close.  Sure, I’m a little biased—I’m a student at the University of Michigan, my favorite NFL team is the Lions (playoffs, anyone?), and NCAA Football[1] was my preferred Gamecube (don’t judge) game of choice over Madden—but that doesn’t make my opinion any less valid.  College football still trumps the NFL.

In my opinion, do you believe that?Go to an NFL game, and check out the “NFL Experience.

1.The stands are full of corporate assholes sucking up to their bosses or attempting to land a new client.  Giant video screens (now 30% larger!) are covered in a nauseating amount of advertisement, each looking to gain a piece of the lucrative “NFL consumer” pie.  T.O. scores, and pulls a sharpie out of his sock.  Chad Ochocinco/Johnson pulls his best Tiger impression and nails a 10-footer with the pylon.

2.Endzone sections erupt into loud roars with every score, but that’s about it.  The rest of the stadium is filled with muffled cheering at best since the best seats are occupied by those same corporate assholes, who are more focused on the email they just received from their boss than the actual game.  There is life here, but it’s not immediately evident.  The selfishness seen from in the players, fans, and team owners is too consuming.
